Qantas Will Pay $135 For Your Passport If You Travel to Australia

“What an interesting promotion Qantas Airways is currently running. They will take $135 off your booking per person on all eligible flights to Australia. Purportedly to pay for the passport you don’t have.”

Qantas Will Pay $135 For Your Passport If You Travel to Australia

Daniel of The Hotelion at TravelUpdate is correct when he wrote this article: even if you are an American citizen who already has a passport, Qantas Airways will still discount your airfare by $135.00 in United States dollars — which includes the cost of the passport itself plus the execution fee — when you purchase a ticket using the code passport to fly as a passenger to Australia by Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

After you have entered the code passport, the total price will display with the discount applied and taxes included for the least expensive itinerary.

The discount applies to any advertised adult fare or child fare to Australia in any class of service — but infant fares and the redemption of frequent flier loyalty program miles do not qualify for the discount.

Prices may change at any time and are not guaranteed until the ticket is paid in full. This offer is valid until Tuesday, November 28, 2017; and is only available on tickets originating and purchased in the United States. The discount cannot be transferred; redeemed for cash; and cannot be combined with any other offer.

Conditions applicable to specific fares purchased continue to apply — including but not limited to, restrictions on dates of purchase; and dates of travel — including any blackout dates.

Other terms and conditions apply.

Summary

Travel companies seem to want to encourage you to get yourself a passport if you are one of the approximately 59 percent of Americans who still does not already have one. For example — in an effort to encourage those Americans who still do not have a valid passport to apply for one — Hilton is currently hosting a Passport Concierge Booth at the American Airlines terminal at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago this weekend in order to give travelers passing through a chance to easily apply for — or renew — their passports ahead of the the busy travel season…

…and now Qantas Airways is giving a discount on airfare equivalent to the cost of obtaining a passport with a fee for those people who apply for the first time in this promotion — and a discount of $135.00 off of the price of a ticket to Australia is certainly not a bad deal.
