Rare Opportunity: A Fun Day of Experiences You Will Never Forget 2021 — While Helping to Fight Cancer

Have you ever wanted to actually slide down an inflatable slide to escape a cabin filling with smoke aboard an airplane? Do you dream about inflating a life vest and jumping out of the airplane and into the water? How about opening one of the doors to an airplane during an emergency? What do all of those procedures and commands from members of the flight crew mean?

You can have all of those questions answered as you personally experience all of that and more — yet all in a safe environment at a state-of-the-art training facility — when you bid in this auction to attend Road Warrior Training for the day at the world headquarters of Delta Air Lines adjacent to the international airport in Atlanta.

This is a rare opportunity which includes plenty of hands-on experience, as Delta Air Lines no longer offers this day of Road Warrior Training to the public. It is an extremely condensed taste of the weeks of training which members of flight crews are required to undergo…

…and yet, you get to learn about and actually experience evacuation procedures in the unlikely event of an emergency while aboard an airplane. The class may include such items as:

  • Operation of the doors – normal and emergency
  • Evacuation procedures and commands
  • Simulated emergency evacuation using plane simulator and evacuation using an inflated slide
  • Emergency decompression simulation
  • Simulated emergency evacuation using cabin simulator and water emergency evacuation using life vest and life raft

100 Percent of the Proceeds Go to Fighting Cancer

Every single penny of what you bid — if it is the winning bid — for participating in this day of training goes towards fighting cancer in association with the American Cancer Society, with which Delta Air Lines has partnered for many years. You read that correctly — all of it.

I will repeat: 100 percent of the proceeds from this event will support the American Cancer Society — specifically, the team known as Gretchen’s Gazelles.

A Delta Air Lines Customer Experience Auction will occur in August — additional details are coming soon — which are slated to include such popular events as:

  • Gate Agent for a Day
  • Ramp Agent for a Day
  • Tour of the Operations Control Center
  • Tour of the Technical Operations Center
  • Reservation Agent for a Day
  • Two-hour Flight Simulator Experience
  • Escorted tour of the headquarters of Delta Air Lines and the Delta Flight Museum

Also scheduled for some time in October of 2021 will be an exclusive VIP reception at the Delta Flight Museum — with the chance to meet and greet with executives of Delta Air Lines.

Bidding and Registration Details — But Hurry…

Only five open slots remain for this experience at the time this article was written. Once you have the winning bid, your fee cannot be refunded for any reason — even if you cancel; substituting or transferring the registration to another participant is not permitted; and switching dates once registration is complete and processed is not allowed.

Road Warrior Training starts on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 8:30 in the morning. If you do participate, be prepared to be exhausted, as you will spend the entire day at the Delta Air Lines In-Flight Service Training Center — likely not ending before 3:30 in the afternoon.

The auction closes this Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 3:00 in the afternoon Eastern Daylight Time — so if you are interested, place your bid as soon as possible.

Summary

Delta Air Lines no longer offers the Road Warrior Training course other than to its employees, so this day of training is an opportunity you will not want to miss. You will have many stories to tell — and you will be the envy of all of your friends.

You can even inform members of the flight crew aboard the airplane during your travels in the future that you are an “able-bodied traveler” who can assist them in the unlikely event of an emergency situation — and yes, you will impress them with your knowledge.

I understand that an unplanned bonus surprise may occur after the class; but that depends on the weather.

You likely have seen and heard the safety demonstration literally hundreds of times during your travels and read those safety information cards in the seat pockets in front of you over the years. Now you can be instructed by professionals who have many years of experience at a state-of-the-art training center while you simultaneously better understand the actual responsibilities of a flight attendant. Take this rare opportunity to attempt to see if you have the skills to be a certified Delta Road Warrior — and help to fight cancer in the process.

For additional information, please refer to this article which offers greater details about this event — as well as photographs and information about Road Warrior Training in general.

Also, please read the articles which I have written about what to do to survive an airplane water landing — a photographic essay which could save your life — as well as 6 steps on how to safely use an evacuation slide in the event of an emergency.

Be sure that you bid for this full day event as soon as possible if you are interested in participating in Road Warrior Training at the world headquarters of Delta Air Lines. I highly recommend it.
